Movement psychology - the language of the body and the psychology of movements based on the international dance therapy form Dansergia

PhD project.
The language of the body and the psychology of movement are the central axes for the project.

Inspired by phenomenological, anthropological, and auto- ethnographic narrative research methods the project explores the potentials of movement as personal development and therapy through 3 ‘spaces'. These 3 spaces are the movement pedagogical space, the personal/professional space and primarily the dance therapeutic space, which is exemplified through the dance therapy form Dansergia.

The aim of the project is to reveal new aspects of the interrelations between the body and movement language and the emotional and psychological dimensions of the human being. From these aspects it might be possible to develop a theoretical and practical concept called "Movement Psychology" bridging energy psychological, phenomenological and societal perspectives opening also new possibilities in the movement pedagogical spheres.

The project is a PhD project and will be reported through articles (present publications reported in ‘Nyhedsbrev') and hopefully finished late 2007/spring 2008.
