A comparison between aerobic and anerobic exercise effects on physical self-perception and self-esteem in outpatients with depressive disorders in Denmark

PhD project.
This study investigates experimentally the role of physical exercise on the treatment of depression in comparison to psychotherapy and medication.

Subjects will be assigned randomly to four experimental groups (aerobic exercise, anaerobic exercise, psychotherapy and medication) and a non-treatment control group.

The assessments will be done in pre-test, mid-test and post-test; and a follow-up after 1, 2 and 3 months.
